Engagement in public policies - Climate alignment
Nan Pao’s Net Zero Declaration
Nan Pao is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. To support this goal, the company has developed a carbon neutrality roadmap that outlines its future mission and responsibilities. This roadmap aligns with national policies, supports low-carbon transitions, and is consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Governance Framework for Public Engagement
The evaluation of Nan Pao’s membership in public and industry associations is conducted by the senior executives of each business unit and then submitted to the CEO for approval. The Corporate Sustainability Development Working Team is responsible for regularly assessing whether these associations align with the company’s sustainability goals and policies, and reports the findings to the CEO.
Process for Climate-related Lobbying and Industry Association Participation
Nan Pao has implemented a management system to oversee climate-related lobbying activities and participation in industry associations across all operational sites. Through well-defined evaluation and management mechanisms, we ensure that our involvement in climate-related public affairs aligns with our sustainability and climate change policies, as well as with the objectives of the Paris Agreement. We conduct regular reviews of our participation in trade associations, focusing on those addressing climate change. Using a clear monitoring process, we assess whether these associations' positions and activities align with the Paris Agreement. In cases of misalignment, we engage with the associations to work towards ensuring consistency between their climate policies and our own.
