What is the difference between ordinary hot melt adhesive and PU adhesive?

Ordinary hot melt adhesive (usually EVA-based) melts when heated and solidifies quickly upon cooling. It’s ideal for general-purpose applications such as packaging, woodworking, and crafts. It's easy to use, sets fast, and works well under normal conditions.

On the other hand, PU (polyurethane) adhesive—especially PUR hot melt—offers stronger bonding strength, higher heat resistance, and better flexibility and durability. It cures through moisture or chemical reaction, making it more suitable for automotive, textile, construction, and high-performance industrial uses.

In short:

• Use ordinary hot melt for quick and economical bonding.

• Choose PU adhesive when you need stronger, more durable performance, especially in challenging environments.
